   Buyer beware. These are not 1.5 inches as stated. They are the more common 1.25 inches. If you are like me and you went searching for something a little meatier than the usual 1 1/4 and you think you found it, well, you didn’t. There are others on amazon that really are 1.5.

   I bought this as a replacement for my husband’s old belt of a similar style. He loves this type of belt so I bought him two. The metal ends fell off almost immediately on both belts. We fixed them………but should we have to?

   Misrepresentation! This belt was advertised by “Private Island” as a “military web belt.” It is only 1.25″ wide while military belt standard is 1.5″ wide. It is also made of light weight canvas so I am sure that after stretching (which I imagine it will owing to the light weight of the webbing) I would expect it to become narrower. The brown color has a reddish cast to it. The buckle is shiny silver and light weight compared to military belts I have purchased from other vendors. I don’t believe it would be worth the expense of returning it. As the title says, ask first if you are seeking certain specifications in your product.

   I was in the Air Force for 4 year’s and the black canvas belt I received is as good as the Military belts. Easy on and off buckle, easy to size and easy to clean. In the future I will buy more.
